Driveways, patios and block walls, poured by concrete contractors we have watched finish
Concrete is unforgiving: the prep, the rebar and the finish are locked in the day it is poured. We match you with concrete and masonry contractors whose driveways we can drive you past.
What concrete work costs in Orange County (2026)
Concrete is priced by the square foot plus demolition. Here is what Orange County homeowners typically pay.
Lifted or cracked sections cut out and replaced; mudjacking and crack filling at the low end.
Broom finish, about $6 – $15 per sq ft.
A two-car driveway, old slab out, new rebar-reinforced slab in; about $7 – $13 per sq ft plus $1.40 – $2.30 for demolition.
Stamped, colored, pavers, or a long driveway.
What moves the price
- Area poured and the thickness or reinforcement required.
- Demolition and disposal of the old slab.
- Finish: broom, stamped, colored or pavers.
- Access for trucks and equipment, and hillside or retaining-wall engineering.

Concrete & Masonry in Orange County: questions we get every week
Do I need a permit for a driveway in Orange County?
Patios and walkways on your own lot usually don’t. The driveway apron at the street needs an encroachment permit from the city, and block or retaining walls above a few feet need a permit and often engineering.
Repair or replace?
A few cracked sections can be cut out and replaced. If the slab is heaved by roots or cracked throughout, replacement is the honest answer.
How long before I can drive on it?
Walk in 24 to 48 hours, drive in seven days, full strength in about a month.
Pavers or concrete?
Pavers cost more up front, never crack, and can be lifted to fix a pipe. Concrete is cheaper and fine where roots are not an issue.
