Tile that stays put: regrouting, repairs and new tile by setters who do it every day

Tile fails at the grout and the waterproofing, not the tile. We match you with tile contractors who fix the cause, match the grout, and set new tile flat and square.

What it costs

What tile work costs in Orange County (2026)

Small repairs are priced per visit; new tile is priced by the square foot. Here is what Orange County homeowners typically pay.

Grout & tile repair
$100 – $700

A few cracked tiles, failed grout lines, a loose section. Minimum service fees are common.

Regrout a shower
$560 – $880

Old grout removed, new grout and caulk; recaulk alone $150 – $300.

Bathroom floor or backsplash
$450 – $1,200

A 50 sq ft floor or a standard backsplash, installed.

Full shower surround
$1,800 – $5,000

Walls and pan retiled, with waterproofing.

Larger floors
$1,000 – $5,000+

About $8 – $14 per sq ft installed for ceramic or porcelain; stone more.

What moves the price

  • Square footage and tile size; small mosaics take far longer.
  • Demolition and substrate repair under old tile.
  • Material: ceramic versus porcelain, stone or glass.
  • Waterproofing and shower pan work.

How it works

One call. The right tile setter. No cost.

1. Tell us about the job

Call (714) 628-1225 or send the form below. A person from our Orange office answers, asks a few questions, and understands what you need.

2. We match you

We pick from the contractors we have already vetted for license, insurance and finished work. Want to compare? Ask for two or three.

3. They call you

The contractor contacts you to look at the job and quote it in writing. You decide. We follow up to make sure it went the way it should.

Before we refer anyone

What we check so you don’t have to

State license

Active with the Contractors State License Board, in the right classification for the work, checked again every renewal.

Insurance

Liability and workers’ compensation certificates on file, so a problem on your property is their problem, not yours.

Track record

Years of finished jobs for Orange County homeowners, and the follow-up calls to prove it. Contractors stay in the network by keeping customers happy.

Fair pricing

Written quotes, no bait-and-switch, and a deposit that respects California’s limit of $1,000 or 10%, whichever is less.

Good to know

Tile & Grout in Orange County: questions we get every week

Can cracked grout just be regrouted?

If the tile is solid and the substrate is sound, yes. If tiles are loose or the wall behind is soft, water has gotten in and the section needs to come out.

Do I need a permit?

Resurfacing is permit-free. Rebuilding a shower pan is plumbing work that needs a permit and a flood test.

Should I buy the tile?

Pick it with the setter: thickness, size and the right thinset matter, and the setter knows the waste factor.

How long before I can use the shower?

Typically 24 to 72 hours after grout and caulk, depending on the product.
